As a child living in a rural community I was surrounded by all sorts of animals.
After I moved to New York City I found that I longed for the day when I would again
be able to have a puppy. Starting with my beloved Pookie a feisty very wise
West Highland Terrier my life has been filled with a menagerie of wonderful animals
that are a constant source of joy, at times terrible concern, great companionship and
happiness to me. Here are some of my furry loves.
My first New York dog was my beloved Pookie, a West Highland Terrier.
Pookie was featured in dog books, my fashion adds and in my books, in fact he
developed quite a following with people enquiring about him as I traveled around
the country. He was my very best friend sharing both the good times and the
bad in my life. Through this feisty and wonderful dog I learned how deep my
capacity to love had grown. I now have seven wonderful dogs; my mother calls
them her “grandpups”, living with me in Weatherstone. I call this crew the
“
magnificent seven” and each one of them has a very distinct personality.
They are my constant companions as I work in the gardens, walk the property or
sit in front of a cozy fire reading a book. They make me laugh and are a never-ending
source of joy and happiness. |
