 My professional design life started in the fashion world where I worked for Oscar de La Renta for 10 years and later launched my own fashion house. Although I loved fashion, I had a larger dream, a passion for beauty that extended beyond the sphere of clothing. I was determined to broaden my horizons because I felt the world of flowers, entertaining, garden design, interiors, and product design would allow me to reach a far wider audience. I knew it would give me a chance to share beauty with more people. And, perhaps best of all, it would give me the opportunity to teach others how to capture and create beauty in their own lives—in the everyday and the out of the ordinary—and in turn share it with the people they care about.
So here I am, over a decade later, introducing my ninth book, A Passion for Blue and White. My new book takes you through my homes (including my former pied-a-terre in Paris) in never-before-seen photographs of these rooms. It’s hard to believe this year marks the eleventh anniversary of my first book, A Passion for Flowers. I am beyond tickled that it is still not only relevant but a must-read for anyone who loves or works with fresh flowers. I am equally proud of my other books, too, and am pleased to be able to offer them here.
