Perfect Host and Guest
June 2006
Summer is the season of the revolving door at Weatherstone. Whether it’s the influx of house guests–coming for an over-night or weekend stay–or the promise of dinner banter with friends on the terrace, I find myself with a packed schedule of entertaining. And happily, too, it is often me running out the door, invitation in hand. This month, I have several ideas to help you with your own summer entertaining. I'll show you how I set up my guest rooms, including a checklist I've been honing for years. I'll share some design principles that I hope will inspire you to mix up your table settings and have fun decorating for dinner. And finally, I'll offer some thoughts on hostess gift giving–an ever-important part of being a gracious guest.
