Christmas
December 2006
The holidays are often a frantic time of year with all of the planning, meeting, shopping, decorating, cooking, wrapping and so forth that is crammed in the few short weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. And I am just as guilty as the next person of getting caught up in the whirlwind.

This year, I am making an effort to put the breaks on and slow down. I want to enjoy the holidays and spend more time feeling grateful for the people I have in my life and less time feeling stressed out about all of the holiday hoopla.

In designing the collections here, I have tried to make it easier for you by coordinating gifts and wraps so that it is simple to create spectacular gifts. A blue leather journal becomes a great gift when it is paired with a matching pencil case and wrapped in paper and ribbons to match.

You will also find a wonderful assortment of gifts for the men on your list. It’s not that the items I have selected are radically different, but rather they are classic and timeless. By choosing a bit of luxury—like a crocodile fountain pen—you can please the modern, jeans and graphic T-wearing young man on your list or the elegant gentleman who wears a 3-piece suit.

Beyond fabulous leather goods and Limoges, I am thinking about ways to give back to the community. I hope you’ll be inspired by some of the ideas in “Spirit of Giving.”

Above all else this season, I wish you good health and great happiness! And I hope you will take the time to really savor some of your favorite holiday traditions.
