Summer 2008
I have just returned from a visit to my favorite foreign country France inspired anew with gardening, cooking and entertaining ideas. As much as I love spending time in my homes every once in a while I feel that I am desperate for an infusion of European culture. This is not to say that I am not inspired by many places in the world but for that quick strong jump start to new ways of doing things France, for me, delivers instantly.
A friend graciously invited me to share in a culturally jam-packed long weekend in his beautiful 17th century, Mansart-designed château named Balleroy. We visited two beautiful gardens, magnificent cathedrals, the American cemetery at the beaches of Normandy, enjoyed a lovely musical evening in the château and went ballooning, which was so much fun. This adventure inspired our story on French entertaining, and of course after the beautiful sites and all of the eating what else does one do in France but shop? Most of the new products in this summer collection from Presentations were either made in France or designed there. So we hope you enjoy our ode to La Belle France!
